
Life Saving Courses
At HPi Certified Training Academy, we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality, hands-on safety training that prepares you for real-life emergencies. Every life saving course is taught by HSI (Health & Safety Institute)-certified instructors with extensive backgrounds in emergency response, healthcare, and public safety.
Our instructors go beyond textbook teaching—they bring real-world experience into every session, creating an interactive, engaging, and practical learning environment. Participants gain essential skills along with the confidence to act quickly and effectively when moments matter most. We offer four courses to meet your needs; CPR & AED Course, First Aid Course, Combination CPR/AED and First Aid Course and the Basic Life Support (BLS) Course.
CPR & AED Course (Adult, Child and Infant)
This foundational course teaches participants how to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies across all age groups.
Course Topics Include:
• Scene safety and assessing responsiveness
• CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants
• Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Two-rescuer CPR and team dynamics
• Relief of choking in adults, children, and infants
• Post-resuscitation care and recovery position
• Mental health awareness and responder self-care
• Certification: Successful participants receive a 2-year certification in CPR & AED (Adult, Child, and Infant) , with an option for re-certification upon expiration.
Instructor Focus:
Each instructor personalizes training with real-world examples from emergency calls, healthcare environments, and community incidents. Participants learn what to expect during actual emergencies and how to respond with confidence and composure.
First Aid Course
This course prepares participants to respond quickly and effectively to a wide range of medical emergencies. Students learn how to provide immediate, appropriate care while awaiting professional responders.
Course Topics Include:
• Scene assessment and safety precautions
• Wound care and bleeding control
• Managing shock and sudden illness
• Burns, fractures, sprains, and strains
• Environmental emergencies (heat, cold, bites, and stings)
• Recognizing stroke, heart attack, and diabetic emergencies
• Mental health awareness and responder self-care
• Certification: Successful participants receive a 2-year certification in First Aid, with an option for re-certification upon expiration.
Instructor Focus:
Instructors integrate real-life case studies and field experience into each session, helping participants build the judgment and confidence to apply first aid effectively—even in chaotic or high-stress situations.
CPR/AED & First Aid Course (Adult, Child and Infant)
This comprehensive course combines CPR/AED and First Aid into one convenient training session—ideal for workplaces, schools, community organizations, and anyone wanting full readiness for cardiac and medical emergencies.
Participants Will Learn:
• Complete CPR and AED skills for all age groups
• First aid essentials for common injuries and illnesses
• How to coordinate care between CPR and First Aid response
• Practical, scenario-based training exercises
• Mental health awareness and responder self-care
• Certification: Successful participants receive a 2-year certification in CPR/AED & First Aid (Adult, Child, Infant), with an option for re-certification upon expiration.
Instructor Focus:
Instructors deliver a dynamic, blended learning experience that emphasizes hands-on practice and real-world readiness. Students leave confident in their ability to take immediate, effective action when emergencies occur.
Basic Life Support Course (BLS)
The BLS for Healthcare Providers course is an advanced-level program for medical professionals, first responders, and individuals seeking deeper resuscitation training.
Course Topics Include:
• High-performance CPR for single and team rescuers
• Advanced airway management and ventilation techniques
• Bag-valve-mask (BVM) use and oxygen administration
• AED integration in multi-rescuer scenarios
• Team communication and coordination during resuscitation
• Response to opioid overdose and special resuscitation considerations
• Mental health awareness and responder self-care
Instructor Focus: Led by instructors with real emergency medical and field experience, this course bridges textbook knowledge with practical response strategies. Students engage in realistic, scenario-based simulations that build both skill and confidence.
Hands-On Component: Participants gain true hands-on experience with:
• Realistic CPR manikins for chest compressions and rescue breathing
• AED trainers for defibrillation practice
• Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) devices for airway management
Certification: Successful participants receive a 2-year certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) with an option for re-certification upon expiration.
Certification Note:
A current CPR certification is not required to enroll. Proof of having previously completed a CPR course is sufficient. Upon successful completion, participants will receive HSI BLS Certification.
Instructor Credentials- All instructors at HPi Certified Training Academy are licensed through the Health & Safety Institute (HSI) and bring extensive experience in emergency medical services, public safety, or healthcare. Each class is tailored to meet student needs, ensuring every participant leaves competent, confident, and prepared to act when it matters most.
